- West Virginia – West Virginia allows anyone over 21 years old Constitutional Carry open and concealed freedoms and does not require registration of firearms.
- Arkansas – Anyone over 18 years old who can legally possess a firearm can open or conceal carry with no registration requirements.
- Montana – Montana is also a Constitutional Carry state without permit or registration requirements.
- Mississippi – Mississippi is another permitless carry state. If you are over 18 years old, you can open carry, and those over 21 years old can conceal carry.
- Missouri – As a Constitutional Carry state, anyone over 19 years old can open or conceal carry firearms with no registration requirements.
- Oklahoma – Anyone over 21 years old can open or conceal carry if they can lawfully possess a firearm. Active duty military personnel can do so if they are over 18 years old.
- Texas – You can carry open or concealed in Texas if you are 21 years old and can legally possess a firearm.
- South Dakota – As an open and concealed Constitutional Carry state, anyone 18 years old and older who can legally possess a firearm can open or conceal carry.
- North Dakota – Like their neighbors, residents in North Dakota can open or conceal carry if they are at least 18 years old. However, they cannot have a protective order against them and must have the legal right to possess a firearm.

Guns & Ammo also compiled a list of gun-friendly states. However, its top ten list is different from Ammo.com. They may have used different criteria, or judged the criteria based on different values. The top ten states for gun owners, according to Guns & Ammo, are:

- Idaho
- Montana
- Utah
- North Dakota
- Arizona
- South Dakota
- Tennessee
- Texas
- Kansas
